HIPAA Exams is a professional and management development training company with primary focuses on health care, workplace safety, and legislative compliance. HIPAA Exams, accredited by ANCC, is an SBA 8(a) corporation that researches and develops
stand-alone (off-the-shelf) and client-specific training content that can be used with or without the HIPAA Exams Learning Management System (LMS). The Company offers more than 25 health care-related courses that can be purchased, or leased individually, and viewed via the HIPAA Exams LMS or the client's own viewing system. Courses are also available in hard copy.
HIPAA Exams, Inc. began in 2001 as an online learning system for hospitals. The Company soon expanded when Massachusetts General, Scripps, and the U.S. Air Force asked HIPAA Exams to develop content for Registered Nurses that was specific to Joint Commission (JC) compliance. The content focus expanded further to include Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance. With oversight by an advisory board of health care professionals, HIPAA Exams continued to expand its library of on line modular training.
Each educational module is designed and developed in response to, and with consideration for, the unique educational needs of the target audience. Subject matter experts in specific fields apply meticulous, evidence-based, research standards in the development process of every learning module. Because HIPAA Exams deals exclusively with regulation-based health care training, the regulation itself is a critical component of the methodology. Before a learning module is released to the Course Library, it passes through review committees for medical accuracy, fact checking, and vetting for conflict of interest.
Quality outcome measures that include completion rates, test scores (minimum 80%), and customer satisfaction scores, are collected, monitored and evaluated for every course. A clearly defined method using this learner input is employed to evaluate the effectiveness of each online course. Courses are designed, planned, implemented, and evaluated in accordance with adult learning principles and professional education standards.
HIPAA Exams core learning modules include compliance with HIPAA and the JC standards. Because these standards are often revised, and compliance is mandatory, the program planners at HIPAA Exams continually research and update all HIPAA modules annually to ensure current mandates are presented in learning modules.
Most recently, compliance with the HIPAA Final Rule became a mandate for all Covered Entities (CEs) and Business Associates (BAs) under HIPAA. Many of the original HIPAA Rules, as they applied to CEs and BAs, were revised or expanded and new information about the compliance needed to be disseminated quickly. HIPAA Exams revised all pertinent learning modules, added new ones where needed, and made them available to all target markets immediately.
Rest assured you are getting the most up-to-date information from a credible source. All of our current courses were developed while accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Centers Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). However, we are now seeking accreditation through IACET which is accepted by ANCC, HR Certification Institute, National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, American Medical Association, the American Association of Integrated Medicine, the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education, the American Psychotherapy Association and hundreds of others.
